Weekly Sailboat Charter on the Dufour 360

Based at Marina de Portimão, the Dufour 360 is a 2020 cruiser that accommodates 8 guests across 2 cabins. Available bareboat (with valid sailing license) or skippered.

Weekly Rates by Season

  • Low Season: €1,950 per week
  • Mid Season: €2,290 per week
  • High Season: €2,860 per week

Suggested Itineraries from Marina de Portimão

The marina sits at the mouth of the Arade River, putting most of the Algarve coast within a day’s sail. Three itineraries we recommend:

  • Short Trip — 70 nm: A relaxed week between Portimão, Ferragudo, Ria de Alvor, Lagos and Carvoeiro, with daily returns to Marina de Portimão.
  • Mid Trip — 118 nm: Adds Marina de Vilamoura (21 nm) and the Ria Formosa Natural Park at Culatra (18 nm), plus a stop at Albufeira.
  • Long Trip — 185 nm: Reaches the eastern Algarve and the Guadiana River at Alcoutim (50 nm), the river border with Spain, before returning west via Albufeira.

When to Sail in the Algarve

The Algarve has more than 300 days of sun per year, but the boating season has clear shoulders. April–June brings warm days, lower prices and quieter coves. July–August is peak season with the warmest sea (around 22–23 °C) but also the highest demand and rates. September–October is, in our view, the best window: warm water, fewer crowds and stable westerly winds for sailing. The Levante wind from the east can pick up in summer afternoons, which the captain will factor into your route.

What You’ll See on the Algarve Coast

Benagil Cave

The most photographed sea cave in Portugal, with a natural skylight in the ceiling. Larger sailboats anchor outside the cave; entry inside the cave itself is restricted to small craft and supervised swims. From the Bavaria 40 you’ll anchor nearby and swim or paddle in on the SUP. Read our full Algarve cruising guide →

Ponta da Piedade

A cluster of ochre-coloured cliffs, arches and grottoes at the southern tip of Lagos. Best seen from the water — most arches are invisible from the clifftop walk. About 1 nautical mile from Lagos marina.

Ria Formosa

A protected coastal lagoon east of Faro, home to flamingos, seahorses and the Culatra and Armona island chain. Only reachable by boat on a longer multi-day charter.

Algar Seco and Praia da Marinha

The stretch between Carvoeiro and Praia da Marinha is the cliff-and-cove backbone of the central Algarve. Praia da Marinha is consistently ranked among the most beautiful beaches in Europe.

Do You Need a License to Rent a Boat in the Algarve?

For captained tours like the Bavaria 40, no — the captain handles everything. For bareboat charter of the Dufour 360, you need a valid recreational sailing license recognised internationally (ICC, RYA Day Skipper or equivalent) plus sailing experience appropriate to a 10-metre yacht. If you don’t have a license or want to fully relax, we add a professional skipper to the booking. For fishing-specific rules in Portuguese waters, see our guide on sea fishing licenses.
